Obituary for Noel D. Russell
Noel Dean Russell 87, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away on February 12, 2020 at Manor Care in Kirksville, Missouri.
He was born February 4, 1933 the youngest child of George and Lydia Price Russell in Humphreys’ Missouri. On August 8, 1952 he married his bride of 67 years, Velda Fuller and from this union three children were born.
Noel is survived by his wife, Velda Russell; three children, Dena (Rodney) Shoop of Green City, MO., Randall (Jennifer) Russell of Milan, MO., Kendall Russell of Unionville, MO.; five grandchildren, Jared (Stephanie), Marcus (Kaia), Ethan (Kari), Drew and Ian.; six great grandchildren, Michael, Anthony Maddox, Jaxon, Trayton, Ava; four great great step grandchildren, Hunter, Ruby, Kaia, Vitami; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred McKay; three brothers, Allan, Victor and Joel V. Russell.
Noel graduated high school from in Humphreys Missouri and joined the United States Army in 1953 and served until May of 1955. He was not excited about joining but was very proud of serving his county and enjoyed his time spent in Alaska. A true cowboy at heart, once he returned home, he jumped back into the saddle. Which was where he was happiest.
Noel spent the rest of his day farming and doing cowboy work. He enjoyed all aspect of farming from row cropping to baling hay, raising cattle and custom trucking cattle for others. A few of his greatest memories where cowboying with Tommy Couch and sharing his love of farming with his son and others.
When Noel was not working, he could be found at the roping arena taking home a few belt buckles, saddles and or URA points, placing in the top 10 for many years. He was a member of the Green City Roping Club for many years. Noel was a hardworking, humble and generous man who shared wisdom, kindness to anyone he met. He loved people, visiting and sharing cowboy stories.
Noels’ wishes were for cremation at A Simplified Funeral Solution and requested no services be held.
