Obituary for Michael Ray "Mike" Herron

Mike Herron, 63 of Kansas City, MO. passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at North Kansas City Hospital surround by his family.

He was born Friday, November 9, 1956 the son of Donald and Patricia (Turner) Herron in Long Beach, California.

Welcomed home with flips and cheers by his free spirited, spitfire of a granddaughter. Mike is preceded in death by granddaughter Mary Jane Shea, stepdad, Charles Davis along with a few of his “on the hill “good friends.

Surviving are his three beautiful daughters, Amanda Herron of Hurdland Mo., Chanda Herron of Laddonia, Mo., Colette Whelan and son in-law, Richard of Laddonia, Mo.; one step-son, Clint Worthington, Millard, MO.; three granddaughters, Jade, Adessa and Winona; four step granddaughters, Ashley Kayley, Ciera Danielle; his favorite and only biological grandson, Aaron, three-step grandsons, Carson Cameron, Clinton; one great granddaughter; Lyla, and two step great-granddaughters, Layla and Ava; parents, Patricia Davis of Madison, MO.; father, Donald and wife, Carolyn Herron of Centralia, MO.; two sisters, Cindy Daum (Dana) of Centralia, MO., Kathy Herron of Centralia, MO.; two step sisters, Jodi (Bill) Fricke of Centralia, Mo.; Lori (Jon) Brown of Hallsville, Mo.; one step brother, Glen Herron of Moberly, MO.; a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and few really good friends.

Mike was a very loving and caring man that would go out of his way to help others. He grew up and spent his younger years in Shelby county and graduating from Paris High School in Paris, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hanging out with friends and family but most of all he loved sports. Mike enjoyed all sports and throughout his life he was a dedicated MIzzou Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks fan. He loved hanging out “The Landing” in Liberty, Missouri where he met many great friends and enjoy watching sports. Mike was the kind of guy that would go out of his way to help anyone and knew how to live.

Mike’s wishes were for Cremation H20 and services are being provided by A Simplified Funeral Solution in Green Castle, Missouri.

A couple “Celebrations of Life” are being planned for a later date in Centralia, MO. and “The Landing in Liberty,” Missouri.
