Obituary for Joy Elaine Fields

Joy Elaine Fields
Joy Fields, age 67 of Green City, MO passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Mercy One Medical Center in Centerville, IA after a 9 month battle with leukemia.
Joy was born on April 27, 1955 in Ridley Park, PA, the daughter of Bill and Reta (Martin) Fields.
Joy proudly worked for WalMart for over 30 years. She worked in several different stores, but her favorite assignment was serving as an Assistant Manager when the new Centerville store opened. She later transferred to the Kirksville store where she continued her career, retiring after 32 years with the company. Joy loved to travel and got to see a lot of the United States and Canada. She was able to visit her favorite beach in Florida one last time recently.

She loved being a mom to not only her daughter but her daughter’s friends who frequently visited. Her only question when one of Erin’s friends would show up at the house was, “what are we going to feed them?” She also enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family and especially loved going shopping; always looking for a bargain. She was a member of the Presbyterian-Methodist Church in Green City.
Joy is survived by her beloved daughter Erin Fields of Centerville, IA, her brother-in-law Jim Westhoff (Wanda) of Bloomfield, IA, her nephews and nieces: Darin Westhoff (Janet) of Marathon, FL, Jody Seeley (Troy) of Fairfield, IA, Dana Wheater (Scott) of LaGrand, IA and Jason Westhoff (Joani) of South English, IA along with great-nieces and nephews who she thought of as the grandkids she never had, and several cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Westhoff and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 6th in Centerville, IA. (Time and place will be announced later)
Casady-Luscan Funeral Solutions of Green Castle, MO are honored to care for and minister to the Fields family during this time.
