Obituary for Jerry Gordon Garrett
Jerry Gordon Garrett, 46, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois with his family by his side.
Jerry was born on Tuesday, August 20, 1974 in Kirksville, Missouri a son to Jerry Dee Garrett and Marsha (Seavey).
Jerry is survived by his mother, Marsha Stewart and stepfather, Terry Stewart of Kirksville, Missouri, his four sons, Anthony Chambers of Kirksville, Missouri, Logan Garrett of Kirksville, Timothy (Angel) Garrett, of Youngstown, Missouri and Tyler Garrett also of Youngstown; one brother, Joshua(Laci) Stewart of Kirksville, Missouri; three sisters, Donnita Shultz of Kirksville, Missouri, Angela Stewart of Columbia, Missouri and Kay Hawkins and husband Albert also of Columbia, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; as well as his significant other, Joyce.
He is preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, Leo (Marie) Garrett, and Andy (Jean) Stewart; his father, Jerry Dee Garrett; Estella Dole; one sister, Teresa Stewart; and uncle, John T. Stewart.
Jerry lived most of his life in the Kirksville area, worked construction for many years along with various other jobs and helping anyone in need. Jerry loved life and knew that life wasn't meant to be lived perfectly…but merely to be LIVED. Boldly, wildly, beautifully, uncertainly, imperfectly and loudly LIVED. Jerry loved the outdoors, having fun, camping, fishing, the lake, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Most of all Jerry was a generous and giving friend to many, extremely proud to be a father, loved each of his sons and enjoyed hanging out with them, his family and many friends.
Jerry's wishes were to be cremated by Cremation H20 and "Boots" at A Simplified Funeral Solution in Green Castle, Missouri.
