Obituary for Carl Junior Vanlaningham
Carl Junior VanLaningham, 80 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Carl was born on April 23th, 1941, to Dee and Hester “Emma” (Ewing) VanLaningham in Kirksville Missouri. He was raised in Kirksville and attended the local schools. On February 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Bartlett.
Carl loved working on and racing stock cars in his spare time. Another one of his hobbies was working on C.B. radios. Carl’s family had a huge part of his heart, he loved spending time with them playing card games. Carl’s dog Jakey also held a special place that was just as equal to his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy VanLaningham of Bevier, Missouri; his chosen granddaughter Dalis, sisters Jeanetta (Duane) Chrisman of Kirksville, Missouri, Sue (Duane) Lawson of Kirksville, Missouri along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years; Linda, his siblings; Robert VanLaningham, Jessie Asher, Louise Johnston, and siblings Merle and Sophia.
According to Carl’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. Private family interment will be held at a later date at Hazel Creek Union Cemetery.
