Obituary for Reggie Lee Grindstaff

Reggie Lee Grindstaff, 64, of Galt, Missouri passed away at his home on Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was born in Kirksville, Missouri on January 3, 1954 the son of Ora Wallace Grindstaff and Lorene Coffman Grindstaff. On December 27, 1979 he married Eva Jolene Lea.

Reggie was preceded in death by his father and stepfather Jr. Malloy.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Jolene Grindstaff; two sons. Jason Grindstaff and companion Rachel of Galt, Missouri and Tony Lee Grindstaff of Galt, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jazlyne, Emily Spears, Hunter Rist and Aricka Sprague; his mother, Lorene Molloy of Trenton; one brother, Rodney (Michelle) Grindstaff of Garden City, Missouri; brother-in-law, Russell (Debbie) Lea of Galt, Missouri; sister-in-law, Barbara (Enoch) Hayes of Shawnee, Kansas; Aunt, Morene Lumsden of Milan, Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews and one great niece.

Reggie never met a stranger. He loved to talk and share his knowledge. He loved to hunt and fish from an early age and loved to share the stories of his adventures. He was always ready to help his friend’s, family, community or anyone he encountered on his life’s journey. He loved to cook on his cooker for organizations and make his friends and family cinnamon rolls. Later in his years he enjoyed blacksmithing with his friends. He was proud of his community and served on the Grundy County R-5 school board, the Galt Lions club, the Galt fair board, the Galt volunteer fire department, served on the Galt City Council for many years, and was a member of the Galt Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Galt Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 am on Monday, June 11, 2018 officiated by Gene Schreffler. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Sprigg Cemetery in Lucerne, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested in his memory to Galt Community Improvement.
