Obituary for Patricia Joan Morris
Patricia Joan Morris, age 76, was born in 1942 in Paris, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Murrel L. Cline, DO, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Georgeanna Moffitt-Booth of Milan, Missouri.
Patricia spent her early childhood in east Texas with frequent visits to relatives in Sullivan county and Reger, Missouri. Later, she relocated to northern Missouri and spent her remaining years in Kirksville. She graduated from Truman State with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Sociology and was an accomplished businesswoman; in the 1970s, she owned and operated PJ’s Tavern in Worthington, Missouri. She was an extremely strong and sassy single mother, raising four headstrong, self-sufficient, and successful children.
Patricia loved to sew. She was an excellent seamstress and spent many years making the costumes for The Dance Studio in Kirksville, Missouri. Patricia also spent many hours researching genealogy, documenting the roots of her family, locating cemeteries, and helping others do the same. She loved to dance and spend time with friends laughing and dancing. She also loved caring for her pets, houseplants, and garden. Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who was very straightforward with a very colorful vocabulary.
Patricia is survived by four children, Danita Havens of Kirksville, Jack (Tina) Morris of Kirksville, Richard (Angie) Morris of Kirksville, and Cally (Annette) Morris of Greencastle, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Bridget Narramore, Kristle Havens (Jamie Williams), David Havens, Natasha Morris, Drake Morris, Augustus Morris, Justin Morris, Jason Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Whitley Havens, Cheyenne Hulett, Logan Williams, Jax Havens, Hunter Wolfe, Aniya Havens, and Kaylor Havens; one brother, Mike (Brenda) Cline of Gladewater, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia is also survived by two of her dearest friends, Janet Kerby of Unionville, Missouri, and Vivian Prough of Kirksville.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Greencastle, Missouri, at A Simplified Funeral Solutions with visitation at noon and a memorial service following at 1:00 pm.
