Obituary for James Dee Hurley
James Dee Hurley, 60 of Exline, IA, passed away on January 17, 2018. He was born January 16, 1958 in Kirksville, MO the son of Bobby Dee and Beverly Mae (Blackburn) Hurley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Dee; sister, Jani Hurley-Smith and brother Ronald Miller.
He is survived by his wife Joni Hurley of Exline, IA; one son, Jacob Alexander Hurley of Sartell MN; two step-sons, Zachery Mulvaney of Exline, IA, Josh Mulvaney of Exline, IA; three- grandchildren, Jeslyn, Rosie and Gavin; his mother, Beverly Mae Hurley of Livonia, MO; brothers, Bobbie Hurley of Waterloo IA, Harvey Quintana of Livonia, MO, Robert Hurley of Livonia MO; sister, JoAnn Waldon of Pueblo CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
James grew up in Missouri, Iowa and Washington State. He was a first responder and volunteer fire fighter while living in Minnesota. James was proud to serve in the National Guard as a tank mechanic and a member of the NRA and the Eagles club of Centerville, IA. He lived for collecting camel memorabilia, loved his family and friends, enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing the guitars, darts, billiards.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
