Obituary for Garry Lee Billington

Garry Lee Billington, 70, of Kirksville, formerly of Green City, Missouri passed away on Thursday June 29, 2017.
He was born October 16, 1946 to the late Claude and Lora (Jackson) Billington in Kirksville, Missouri.
Garry is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Wilber Saxsma, brother; Gene Billington and a half-sister; Mary Billington and brother in-law Randy Lunsford.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Billington; one daughter; Trina (Steve)Johnson of Green Castle, Missouri.; four sons; Billy (Mary) Billington of Hickory North Carolina, Terry (Debbie Hutton) of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tracy (Susan) Billington of Hickory, North Carolina, Shane (Amy Hollon) of Green City, Missouri.; special niece Sara Bunch of Kirksville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, two great-grandchildren ; One brother, Larry (Karen) Billington of Brashear, Missouri, step-sister, Margie Bellis of Sun City, Arizona; one aunt, Mary Anesi of Kirksville, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Garry was a simple man that enjoyed his family and helping others. He spent many years donating his time the Green City volunteer fire departments and served as the Green City fire chief for eight years and the Kirksville fire department for five years. Garry organized and helped form the Sullivan County first responder team. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A Service is planned for 2:30pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Green City Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Burnett Cemetery north of Green City, Missouri. A Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 to 2:30pm at the Church.

Memorials are suggested to the Green City Fire Department or the First Baptist Church of Green City.
